United Way of Miami-Dade Receives Donation of 1,000 Thermometers for Local Communty

MIAMI, Fl., Dec. 16, 2020 -- United Way of Miami-Dade received a donation of 1,000 non-contact, infrared thermometers from medical supplier Loh Medical to support local families during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The thermometers were picked up by the team members from the Center for Excellence in Early Education (CFE) for the Early Head Start-Child Care Partnership. CFE has allocated 700 to families and child care providers and 50 to their engagement team for community use at volunteer events. The remaining 250 are pending at the time of publication.

As mandatory closings and quarantines took hold in early 2020, Mrs. Nadia Richez, the General Manager of Loh Medical's U.S. Operations, pooled resources and called on existing experience in international commerce to obtain crucial products to keep the community safe during the pandemic.

Among these products were non-contact thermometers. "The majority of what we do involves exporting mobility equipment to Latin America and the Caribbean," says Nadia Richez. "Almost all of our exports go through the Port of Miami, and under normal circumstances, we travel there on a regular basis. When we found ourselves asking what we could do to give back during this pandemic, Miami instantly came to mind." Loh Medical sells thermometers in bulk quantities and has inventory available for immediate purchase to any business that is interested. Email Loh Medical at info@lohmedical.com for more info.
